Dhamaka (Blast) is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Ram Madhvani, who also produced it with Amrita Madhvani under the banner Ram Madhvani Films, alongside RSVP Movies, Lotte Cultureworks, Global Gate Entertainment, and Lionsgate Films in 2021. Based on the 2013 film The Terror Live, the film stars Kartik Aaryan as Arjun Pathak, a journalist who receives a threat after exclusively interviewing a terrorist who blew up a bridge. Mrunal Thakur and Amruta Subhash have significant roles in the film.
Sunir Kheterpal of Azure Entertainment and the makers of the original film pitched the adaptation first. Ronnie Screwvala purchased the rights to the adaptation when Kheterpal left out, with Madhvani directing it. Production began in December 2020 in Mumbai and was completed in ten days after the formal announcement in November 2020. The post-production work began at the same time and was completed in four months, with the exception of the visual effects and graphics phase, which was continued after the COVID-19 lockdown in September 2021 due to the second wave of the pandemic. Manu Anand is in charge of cinematography, and Monisha Baldawa and Amit Karia are in charge of editing. Vishal Khurana composed the music and background score.
The filmmakers abandoned their plans for a theatrical release in January 2021 in favour of a direct-to-digital release on November 19, 2021, through the streaming provider Netflix.
